What’s one thing you know now that would have saved your younger self a lot of pain?
In my teens and 20s, I used to discourage myself from being real with other people about my interests for fear I would not fit in. Looking back I was very well-rounded having an affinity towards math, athletics, languages, and DnD books. As an example, I liked Pearl Jam and Wu-Tang but I would be shy to say I liked grunge to someone who was more hip-hop aligned. Instead of embracing this diversity I would hide my true interests. I missed a lot of opportunities to form relationships by not having the confidence to be more open.
